Book review: Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels

Lose Big with Jillian Michaels

Book rating: 9/10

This month my fiancee and I just started the workout program in Jillian Michael's book, Making The Cut. Its well thought out and contains great recipies. You can't lose with this one.

We first learned about Jillian Michaels from watching The Biggest Loser tv show. We loved her attitude and her approach to fitness, not to mention she is in great shape herself!

 PROS

First of all, the book is amazing. It is packed with not only great exercises and amazing recipes (even I can help cook them!) but also very useful tips about staying motivated and balancing the mental aspects of following a health program.

The book ends with a special section on some current "fads" in weight loss and body building. After you complete the program and have achieved your goals, there is also a section on what to do in the 7 days before your special event to get REALLY cut!
I can't say enough about the recipes. They are simple and tasty. We're looking forward to what we get to eat next, and its only the 7th day of our program!

CONS

There are only two minor problems with the book that I'd chalk up to editing: some of the recipes make a lot of food (but really it means you prepare some ahead of time and have more time later in the week for other things) and also, some of the exercises are not explained very clearly, and not all of them have images. I still don't know what a frog push up is!

To conlcude: Its just a great book! You can't go wrong with Jillian Michaels' Making the Cut. It takes a smart look at fitness and helps you realize that the only way to stay healthy and fit is to eat right and stay active.
